"I am 52 years old [1999], I have four children, three surviving. My children range in age from 8 years old to 32 years old. My youngest child, Adam, was born in Romania in 1990. He was ten weeks old when I found him and his adoption was one of the first in Romania. My grown daughters also live in Richmond. My daughter Lynn and her husband have two children. There is a six month age difference between my son and my granddaughter. While not the traditional grandmother, I have all of the "cool" toys and a built in playmate for my grandchildren when they are here.

My attorney tells me I cannot say more about the case because I have been indicted for speaking out, but please know that I have not violated the law.

My financial resources are now depleted and I find myself fighting the most powerful office in the country. The Office of Independent Counsel is funded, without limit, by American tax dollars. My personal resources are less tangible but intact. I may not have an endless supply of tax dollars at my disposal, but I have self knowledge. I know that I am strong, I am a survivor, Adam and I are a family worth fighting for, and the truth is on my side. I will prevail. I will be vindicated.
